Rambia Goat Society

From the early days of RAMBIA’s founding, goat farming has been a valued farming enterprise practiced by its members. No wonder goat farming is a longstanding tradition in steep grassland areas of Alpine regions. Our work has been donor funded in the past. RAMBIA received the first batch of donated goats from KRC, a local NGO and later from One Percent Fund for Development. Later these projects evolved into a thoughtful organizing of farmers into a cooperative society in order to make goat farming rather a self-sustaining commercial enterprise. This is we call the Rambia Goat Society.

Buck Station

RAMBIA operates a buck station for the goat farmers who are members of the society and for passionate farmers as well. Currently, the station is keeping a beautiful German Alpine Buck. The idea is to breed crosses that produce more milk for households that need to improve nutritional health especially of their infants. RAMBIA collaborates with U-Goats Network for knowledge sharing and policy engagements that promote the goat value chain in Uganda.
